The creepy prejudiced religious figures win again. A beautiful, free-willed entity is destroyed so they could create yet another one like themselves, as if the world needed any more like them. And the world loses a badly-needed argument in favor of undead.

And the world loses a badly-needed argument in favor of undead. I dunno. It would have been nicer if she could have stated a little more explicitly that she'd like to be raised, but it seemed like that was what both vampire and normal human Bella wanted. As a side note, I like the effect the spell has while acting. Though it does look like the vampire just turned into a blanket for a bit there.

I'd assume if she was not willing the scroll would not have been able to destroy her, since res requires the person's consent as we have been reminded several times.

And the world loses a badly-needed argument in favor of undead. I do see your point, but at least Julie was willing to use a scroll worth 12000 or so gold to bring her back to life instead of the crew ganging up on Bella, destroying her, and keeping the treasure for themselves. Unfortunately I'd definitely see the Justice crew doing something like that. I'd assume if she was not willing the scroll would not have been able to destroy her, since res requires the person's consent as we have been reminded several times. You'd be correct. It wouldn't have worked at all if Bella didn't want to come back to life.
