The new comic's up, and we finally get to see what the original heroes of the story are up to after more than 30 pages. It turns out it wasn't much...they used the phantom steed travel plan and got about 100 miles closer to their goal, but other than that it's been pretty dull. Oh look, a group of ghouls are attacking! Click here to go to the comic's archives: Click!Click here to vote for the webcomic: Click!

You'd think the truce would include "leave the area peacefully". Would really cut down on the resurrection spells used and levels lost.
On a completely different topic: When you have phantom steed and a long distance to travel, is it really worth continuing to move normally? Spending the extra time fortifying their base camp's defences would seem to be a more productive usage of their time. Maybe try and draw a random encounter to them by making a lot of noise or something.
Of course, they might just be exploring this area more thoroughly for treasure, or studying terrain features to determine direction, or any of a hundred genuinely productive things.
How is the 10-minute casting time of the spell being managed, anyway?

Lenny, don't say things like that. That's just asking for trouble.
For the heck of it, I figured out what the minimum int for harvey is with a guess at him being level 8. Then I found that he's got a character sheet in the PCs section rather than the NPCs where I was expecting it >.> Also, comic panel there that we haven't seen yet.

That's because he and Warren are PCs right now and will remain so for the forseeable future.

You'd think the truce would include "leave the area peacefully". Would really cut down on the resurrection spells used and levels lost. Yeah, well people wouldn't shut up about why the clerics weren't killing each other. They just couldn't understand that Evil doesn't mean "attack Good on sight". So the author replied in-print. Something I'm not really a fan of, as six months from now it's going to be a head-scratcher like OOTS #436. Know why the arrow is bouncing around? Me either, I could never figure it out. At length I finally discovered it was a topic the forumites were gabbing about. And finally back to the main group! But I understand why we left them, there wasn't really anything going on. It's about time they had a random encounter!

I didn't have the clerics destroy each other because people were asking why I wasn't, I did it because I was always planning on it.

Glad to see the Unnamed Bard got to the restroom in time. Will we see the relieved bard another day, perhaps?

It's about time they had a random encounter! The arrow was bouncing around because it had the high-level poison on it, so it served as a narrative device to show what was happening simultaneously in several key places in the battle, all the while carrying the tension inherent in that if it hit someone, that person was in massive trouble.

It wasn't going to be in the comic at all but someone said, "OMG, there is an arrow up in the air, where is it going to come down, it MUST be going to kill a major character!!1! Who is it going to be?!?" and there was massive speculation. So the author replied in print. To me, who wasn't around at the time, it didn't make any sense, you had to be on the forums at the time to know what was going on.

It doesn't really make a difference, it was a decent storytelling element and worked well regardless of whether there was any speculation or not. I was not aware of any such forum speculation and it didn't confuse me at all.
