I've got the next page of the comic finished. We're still in the process of wrapping up the combat, and Angelika apparently doesn't even care about the last Sarbek soldier. Brother Jack also mentions something noteworthy about the afterlife. Click here to go to the comic's archives: Click!Click here to vote for the webcomic: Click!

Like an actual reward, or an ironic final reward?

Like an actual reward, or an ironic final reward? It's a real reward, so to speak. It depends on what you consider a reward. Those who are meant to be in one of the three hells will have a comfortable experience after death, even in the Lands of Sadness. Some may decide to become part of the plane itself and do evil's work (possibly by transforming themselves into an evil outsider like a demon or devil) when they feel they are ready. It's the same in the Celestial Heavens. The only people who generally should fear for their eternal safety are people who are sent to a plane they're not supposed to be in. Like a good or neutral person sent to the three hells, or an evil person sent to one of the Celestial Heavens. We've seen a couple of examples of this in the comic so far. The first example would be Thomas Stratus in the Kingdom Of Freedom. He was granted asylum for a little while but would generally be kicked out when they know that he no longer needs to be there. Another example would be Sophia and Exillon in the Kingdom of Justice, where they would be imprisoned for an indefinite period of time due to the evil they've inflicted on the denizens of Manjulias.

Basically, if you end up in the afterlife that you were working towards, you might be able to end up doing more of than after being dead awhile?

If the soul chooses to, but most souls end up choosing to since most people can only revel for so long before it becomes boring.
