I've got a new comic up. Remarkably, Julie seems to not only be back to her non-depressed state, but she's on board with Angelika going with the justice boys. In a shocking (not if you've seen the character pages) twist, Brother Jack has decided to commit his wizard subordinate to Julie's group, much to Harvey's displeasure. Thanks rogonandi.
That's an interesting development. I guess we'll be following both groups in turns now in addition to Umbria's.

This really makes no sense, other than as a deus ex machina.
Why exactly does the leader of this other team want to weaken himself by sending a valuable team member away? Let's face it, wizard >> sorcerer in the 3.x rule set.
Why does he allow Angelika to come along in the first place? I'm not getting that one. In his shoes I'd tell Angelika "Do what you want, but you are not coming with us. I can tell you are not a team player, and will only make us less effective. Plus I am a little sick of your snark, and I've just met you. Have you ever been pleasant to anyone in your life? Sorry, but it would be best for you to stay with your own team. We'll send Jordie back to you when we rescue him."
In particular it makes no sense since the visitor he received during his divination said that Jordie might potentially be a very important person. These guys are all rule savvy enough as you have presented them to know just where wizards and sorcerers stand on the pecking order.
Not buying it. I mean sending away a person you've worked with a long time, and taking someone who seems like an accident waiting to happen?

Additionally I don't know what kind of group this is, but unless it is some kind of military or religious group and he is bound to obey orders I'd refuse to go.
Honestly a wizard by himself would have a equal or better chance of accomplishing this rescue by himself. The only heavy hitter the group has besides him is the Cleric.
Also... think about this from the point of view of someone from this group. Does anyone in Julie's group come across as... well someone you'd respect? Rocky? Angelika? Julie? Lenny? Having someone tell you to go along with them would be like being the last kid picked for kickball. Very insulting.

Newsflash, Sunshine: just because you would do something 'in his shoes' doesn't mean the rest of the world agrees. And how about some positive comments once in a while instead of a constant barrage of nitpicky criticism? That would be great.

Sunbeam: There are a few details you're missing. Wizards, due to having fewer combat-oriented spells (on account of preparing utility ones and having fewer spell slots), are a worse choice for intense combat, and the Justice folks are headed to Souballo HQ, which almost guarantees a difficult battle. They know Angelika's not evil, and aren't really the sort of folks to tell someone, "sorry, but we're not going to work with you for a mutual cause which involves rescuing one of your friends." So, seeing as how they have no reason to not let Angelika join them, it's not unreasonable for them to decide to leave their most fragile party member behind on this mission (and I checked, he's got fewer HP than Angelika) so that, if the rest of them get killed, he won't as well. And, since Julie claims to be a prophet and both her and Lenny are good, not only could they keep Harvey relatively safe, but keeping an eye on them would be important.
In conclusion, not only is most of what they did logically or emotionally sound, but what you'd say in his shoes isn't important because these folks wouldn't say that. They're lawful good, they're sensible, and the non-dwarves are polite. Reacting like that would not fill any of those criteria.

And how about some positive comments once in a while instead of a constant barrage of nitpicky criticism? That would be great. Relax, dude...Sunbeam's just making an opinion based on how she's interpreting what's going on. I don't really agree with it though, especially the deus ex machina part. For one thing, Jordie has to actually be rescued first in order for an opinion like that to be made. They're far from solving the present problem, and rescuing Jordie certainly isn't going to an easy feat; usually deux-ex-machinas are often quick and easy fixes to seemingly impossible problems...this adventure Angelika decided to partake in could easily become a massive story arc that will probably span through the rest of Book 3 into Book 4. Sunny, personally I think your interpretation of how the Justice Guys should react to Angelika joining their team is a bit jarring. They may be pretty far away from Angelika in the law/chaos spectrum, but statistically speaking they all have charisma and wisdom scores of 10 or more. They should have the social skills to be at least somewhat courteous to her, and the wisdom to wait until she does something foolish to decide whether or not she's a liability. Even then, I would think that a leader like Jack would try his best to help push her in a productive direction rather than writing her off. The no-respect to Julie's group thing is also a bit jarring. Sure they haven't handled everything as well as they could've throughout the story, but Harvey only has his first impressions of Julie's group to work with. Even though Harvey doesn't like this turn of events, he is still Lawful and he'll follow orders. (Also, the teachings of Stellina (a lawful good deity) include being courteous and respectful even to those who are very different than yourself.) (I just saw Crystalwind's post after I posted mine, so I'll make an edit addition...) Julie did say she gets divinations, but she didn't say she was an actual prophet for something. I know I'm just arguing semantics, but you know...
