No offense, especially since a) I just joined, b) This is my first post, and c) the author said he's busy in RL, but does anyone know if I can look forwards to more OLA before I graduate high school? (btw I'm in 12th grade.) 'Cause I love this comic and I really don't want it going kaphut like anti-heroes did. In fact the main reason I became a member of this forum is to ask people?
Sorry if I was overtly rude, but I just want to see what the author's got in store for us.
P.S. My name is Daniel too! What a coincidence!

Has something happened in the last month or so, has rogonandi been hurt or is like super busy?

Has something happened in the last month or so, has rogonandi been hurt or is like super busy? The latter, I think, though it's getting worrying for me as well.

I'm still alive, it's mainly been work that's been draining me (haven't had a real 'weekend' in about 6 weeks now.)

I've been wondering if the OotS inspiration is carrying over to update schedule philosophy. This comic has advanced all of five pages in four months.

I'm still alive, it's mainly been work that's been draining me (haven't had a real 'weekend' in about 6 weeks now.) To have created as many comics as you have is admirable. The best I could do with writing is make a rough draft of a book in college and then, years later, write an outline for four extra books in that series and write poems in the meantime. I have had writing downtimes that lasted longer than a year. I hope things at work calm down for you. Your work is amazing.

I've been wondering if the OotS inspiration is carrying over to update schedule philosophy. This comic has advanced all of five pages in four months. My updating schedule doesn't have much to do with Mr. Burlew's. If I could make a living purely off of my creative works, you'd be certain I'd be updating a lot more frequently. If I were him, I'd also be using some of the profits made (especially with that record-breaking kickstarter thing) to hire some kind of manager to take care of product shipment and promotion so it would free up more time for me to make more updates. I'd probably have a lot more creative energy than after 8 hours of pretty physically demanding labor. Part of why I haven't updated nearly as much as before is because for the last two years I haven't been laid off in the off-season and my hours have been pretty steady. The other reason is that I've been working on creating an RPG game set in the same universe as Manjulias and that also has been draining a lot of time away. Recently I've decided to rebuild the said RPG game to add some new abilities for the characters and cleaning up computer code so it can run a bit more efficiently.

Rogonandi-Since I recently joined and am new to online comics I was not aware of how often updates happen. All I can say is you have talent, creativity, and discipline. I worked in retail for a while and had to go in super early on Sunday which killed the weekend and my creativity. You have to get that paycheck and it is frustrating when it interferes. Us creative types would prefer those Mundania jobs would not be needed so we could hang out in Xanth (reference to Piers Anthony's Xanth Series). That is great you are creating an RPG game and adding character abilities sounds fun. I believe you mentioned it with the thread about monsters and you showed those pictures. I have created lots of levels in create a level games but to create a whole game starting with the code sounds both more frustrating, when the code needs fixing, and rewarding, the game is your pure creation. I hope your game works out as you wish and maybe, after you copyright it, you could say more about it on the forum. -Ted

To be fair, the game's base engine is RPG Maker XP with some modifications so I do have a platform to work from. All of the graphics have been created and customized by me, and eventually I'll even be composing the game's music. It's all going to be original, but I also think it's going to take a long time to finish. It's the other hobby besides the comic which keeps me from going insane from dysphoria.

As a fan of the comic, I pretty much just care about the comic. As great as I'm sure it will be, I'm not really interested in an RPG. What I want is more comic. I always admired this comic for being pretty spiffy and doing a good job of keeping up appearances. When the tagline said it updated a couple times a week, it updated a couple times a week. I really admire that and it's always a pleasure to check back in and see a new comic. It's a nice little 60 second lift in my otherwise dull day. This comic has always been based on OOTS, but this year it's becoming rather more like OOTS than I am comfortable with. There have been a grand total of eight comics in almost half a year. January 3, February 2, March 1, April 2, and it's almost the end of May without a new comic. There comes a point when you just stop following a comic because the creator moves on, and I'm scared I'm getting to that point with OLA. Especially in the middle of this dramatic demon loose storyline. I want more comic! The fans demand more comic!

Honestly I will turn this thread into a sunshine rainbow and say that you guys really enjoy this comic immensely and are mainly worried. The comics have a lot of references to RPGs and a couple of paragraphs by Rogonandi, the owner of the site, about an RPG video game he is creating need not upset anyone. Again, though, I understand the worry you guys are expressing.

Well I'm still going to be creating the comic until I'm either dead, homeless on the streets, or the comic itself is finished. I've got no intention of stopping, even if I'm not updating as much as I used to. Manjulias is by far my favorite world to write about, style similarities to OOTS aside (in the comic anyway.) This is my hobby. It's very heartening to hear that people care about this comic, and inspiring as well.
