New comic's up. It looks like in the last 150 years of imprisonment, Mortaridar decided to pick up some kind of divine magic training. Lovely. Also, Umbria's group has made it to Silverfronds and the demon that possessed Kergak has made an appearance at last...only to be destroyed seconds later by the some of the fallout of Mortaridar's magic. ...ummmm... wow that's bad. You know I've been mentally debating with myself about who would win between Mortaridar and Brian+Angelo. This strip has complicated my original guesses. As always great comic.

Oh, so Morty didn't kill the DolorMagister intentionally? I thought it was a "no competitors" kind of thing. Just a random black energy bolt?
How'd he gain XP being trapped in a demiplane?
What was Maxo thinking, asking for a demon wish? He's going to go down in history with worse press than Benedict Arnold and Jane Fonda put together. Maybe it'll be a "silver lining" kind of thing by putting an end to the conflict between Silverfronds and Souballo HQ, but having a real live demon on the loose is much worse than any mortal conflict. Even if Angelo wins and becomes a demigod, it's still less bad than living under the reign of Moritardar.

The DolorMagister was destroyed completely by accident, though I doubt Mortaridar would care at all. Mortaridar couldn't escape the plane without a contract, but it didn't mean other creatures weren't in the plane with him. Both Grimalar and Janusine have interest in Mortaridar, so there probably wasn't anything stopping them from 'feeding' Mortaridar various creatures to build his power. Sometimes demons destroy each other; sometimes for the sheer fun of it.

Pack up our things, it's time we moved to another plane. Do you know of any nice demiplanes?
At least our dwarven friend's not possessed any longer.
Thanks Rogonandi!

It's the tiny little details which really make this comic worth reading. You know, like the shattered sign reading "St. Denise's Children's Hospital", or the /screaming tree with the empty black eyes./ That fourth panel is going to live on in my nightmares. So, yeah. THANKS.

You do a great horror. I can just imagine Nehillio screaming up there! So thanks for fueling all our nightmares.
ETA: Also, Umbria is simply delightful: much like Belkar Bitterleaf, she's the kind of character you want to see more of, even if you want to see her hurt badly. Very, very rarely have I ever encountered a character who I wanted to see more of, even as I wanted to see her killed in a hideous obligatory fashion. Bravo on creating such a personality.

If nothing else, Umbria is great for adding a cynical voice to an otherwise idealistic fantasy story.
