Here's the next comic. We're in an art-upgraded Everwood at the castle where Candesco is being revived by Ultiva...and resurrection from a single piece of the target looks pretty gruesome. In any case, Candesco is back and he still has his divine magic apparently. Click this to go to the comic's archives: Click!Click this to vote for the webcomic: Click!

I feel like with a cleric of Candesco's level, there should have been a LOT more water...

Why was there any doubt as to him retaining his cleric mojo?

Because he had been used as a vessel for great evil, and it might have rubbed off on him? Plus you KNOW some commenters would be doubting if he had his magic. Although is Candesco even aware of what happened while he was gone? That wasn't really his body that Morty used, right?
It must suck being a demon prince, all that destructive power and all that ever happens to you is you get caged again and again.
Also it's nice to see a useless level 1 utility spell being used.

Why was there any doubt as to him retaining his cleric mojo? It's kind of a technicality, but page 516 may answer your question.

Next page gonna be Peganone's turn to come back then?
Also, Candesco looks weird without his stars and sash.

Ah, so he's the one who rang the bell again and got them gated to the evil plane. I never really got the bell, is it a reference to a video game or something?

Honestly the bell is just an improved rod of wonder, except instead of pointing it at something, you ring the bell for the effect. Coming across Mortaridar might have just been a coincidence, though perhaps it wasn't. I can't spoil anything.
