I had some fairly nasty writer's block lately, believe it or not. Work did not help with the toughness of it either, but there is a new comic up now. We've learned that Sophia has some kind of agenda of her own going on to become...Brian and Angelo's child? It's just a rumor, and rumors aren't reliable sources of information...but she probably has a lot to gain by becoming their child. Oh, and there's something up with Kergak too. Huh. Transforming people into door knockers and selling them off is certainly rather cruel of them. There are some rather sadistic magic users on this plane. I wonder if "break enchantment" would be potent enough to release them...
Will be interesting to see where this goes.
Glad you overcame your Writer's Block, and I hope that it doesn't inconvenience you again.

Nicer than simply killing them for being a spy though I think. not necessarily, in the context of a world where raise dead and resurrection spells exist then again, the evil spies go to pretty nasty places could break either way

Ahh, it is so refreshing to see two evil parties meet and not try to kill each other for XP. That's one of the things I like the most about this comic, its "realistic" depiction of D&D evil characters. I also really love that there are multiple adventuring parties all over the landscape doing different things. It's a sandbox D&D world come to life!
I like the doorknocker idea. Sadistic? What else is to be done with evil spies who can be brought back from the dead by their employer as soon as they are killed? Clap them in prison and they'll just escape (they're adventurers after all). They're immobile and can serve a good purpose in this form. It's actually quite clever, and merciful considering the things that magic-users are REALLY capable of.
Dwarf is capitalized, is that significant?

Dwarf is capitalized, is that significant? I usually capitalize the race as a proper noun in the comic.

Great comic,
I did notice that the "S" symbol on the shield is missing in the last panel. Was this because the curse had worked it's magic?

Clap them in prison and they'll just escape (they're adventurers after all). They're immobile and can serve a good purpose in this form. It's actually quite clever, and merciful considering the things that magic-users are REALLY capable of. If their employers cared enough to resurrect them, they're perfectly capable of going to where they are, slaughtering everyone present (or worse), and then breaking the transmutation and bringing them home. As for alternatives? They could be transformed into inanimate objects and placed into a pleasant environment instead. Maybe try to convince them to switch sides in the process, or at least stop supporting their old team and go neutral. They could take away all of their equipment, apply negative levels to them until they're first level, place them in antimagic fields, and anything else needed to ensure that keeping them imprisoned is feasible. I wouldn't say that "They could have done so much worse to them" is really an argument for "not-sadistic". Merely "restrained, for whatever reason, to some degree".
