I've got another one done. Instead of two powerful spellcasters storming the castle, the Silverfronds crew have to deal with a Demon that crossed over from BloddenGogga. The Demon's name is Mortaridar, or 'Morty' apparently. More interestingly, the 'Fire Seeds' spell doesn't allow for spell resistance. All you need to do is connect with the bomb you've created and hopefully the creature isn't immune to fire attacks. Click this to go to the archives: Click!Click this to vote for the comic: Click!

Prediction: Morty has a second layer to his trap and, if brought outside of a dimensional lock, will bring in minions to make things even worse for his opponents. (Or even just free agents who aren't threats to him for whatever reason)

Other prediction: They flee with the king, then the castle promptly does bring the Souballos back. They lose the castle, but at least Angelo et al. are able to take out Morty before, y'know, vast havoc to the plane or anything...

I guess we'll see if it's a different frying pan or the fire this time, to somewhat mangle the phrase.

A demon lord! Loose on the Prime Material Plane! This is much, much worse than just the battle for Silverfronds. You can't beat a legendary figure like this in combat. It just doesn't happen. Maybe they can talk him into lending them his wand for a while. Isn't that what Demon Lords do? I don't doubt him when he says he's curious what they're going to do. He probably is genuinely looking forward to what's going to happen. I think this is the first time we've seen Mr. Stratus cast an offensive spell. Although I don't think his loremaster has ever been mentioned before.

So many questions! Was Morty trapped inside Candesco? Was the resurrection screwed up? Is Candesco still dead? Did he even exist?! With Morty loose on the Prime, does that give a powerful celestial free reign on the prime, too?

Uh oh. A Demon Lord from a past age sounds like it might be even worse then a Demon Lord from the current age!

Both ways. In the fire.

Your note on the fire seeds spell - is negating spell resistance a house rule for the spell?
Now about Stratus's line before his spell...I can't tell if he's making a bit of fun of Maxo for calling them Coconut Bombs, or if watching the Fire Seeds spell made him change his mind about his tactics and opt for the Polar Ray.

As far as the Fire Seeds spell goes, no it isn't a house rule. Apparently the SRD says that spell resistance doesn't apply for the spell. It's a bit odd, but I'm not questioning it. As far as Thomas Stratus goes, he's just as surprised about it as me.
