I suppose some people are wondering why the comic hasn't been updating as much lately. Well, about a year or so ago I decided to start a project called "Mario, Luigi and Gary." This project is a fanfiction in the form of a video game designed using my own graphics, other people's music, and launched on RPG Maker XP. The game is a form of 'fanfiction loaf', meaning it takes parts from various existing canon and blends it up to become something confusing somewhat original. The setting is loosely modeled after Paper Mario 64, with some aspects from Super Mario Galaxy, Warioware, and the Mario Bros cartoon tossed in.
The story is about some average joe from New York who gets warped to the Mushroom World from a nexus point that appeared in his bathroom (much like the original Mario Bros, until Miyamoto gave that explanation the finger and declared it non-canon.) After taking this gigantic change to his life in stride, he takes Rosalina up on the offer to become a hero and learns magic under Ashley the witch's tutelage. After learning magic and becoming strong enough, he joins with Mario and Luigi on a quest to save Princess Peach from Bowser, as well as an even larger danger.
Though this project has virtually no merit other than being avanity relaxation project of mine, it's something I've grown to enjoy considerably...imagine that. Well, this project is almost complete. Mario and the gang have laid siege to Bowser's Castle, with the rescue of Princess Peach bringing chapter 7 to a close. Chapter 8 is just around the corner and it's the final one, excluding a "Pit of 100 Trials" sort of deal I may put together.
So the reason I haven't been updating as much recently is because since MLG is nearly complete. I'm excited about it and I'm sprinting to the finish line now that it's in sight.
