I got the next comic done, and we're still with the Everwood Council crew plus Denise and Slammy, who seem to be kinda carrying things with their 'at will' spell-like abilities. The Airship is proving to be acceptably challenging as a dungeon for these folks. Click here to go to the comic's archives: Click!Click here to vote for the comic: Click!

When did they get detected? Did the octothing get off a warning? One minute they're sneaking and the next casting fireball? I bet the board in the background with the exclamation point says something interesting, but my Photoshop skills aren't enough to make out what's on it.

Probably sometime off-screen they were engaged by someone who saw Slammy and Denise, who lost their invisibility when attacking the Octodaethus.

I'm surprised they didn't have multiple invisibilities prepped... I mean, at that level, what else are you doing with your 2nd-level spell slots?

Exillon knows they're there and (regular, non-greater) invisibility immediately gets dispelled when they attack the mooks that confront them. If invisible, they'd get a surprise round when attacking these mooks, but they probably aren't any higher than 5th level and wouldn't last more than a couple of combat rounds anyway.
