I kinda burned the midnight oil for this, but a new comic's done. Basically we've found out that Trilanna isn't truly dead, but awakened from a clone she made that was moved to Silverfronds Castle. Candesco seemed to have thought ahead as well, but a resurrection may be a bit too time-consuming for what's probably going to end up happening. Well... that's definitely a bad situation. Don't think she'd appreciate dying a second time in a quarter-hour period and, if they don't run, that seems like a fairly likely result. Maybe they'll have been paranoid enough to have traps they can activate to tilt the odds in their favour. Thanks for the comic, as always.

I'm curious to see just how broken Brian is. We haven't really seen him attack at his fullest and I'm curious if we'll end up seeing a epic spell perhaps.
Also is that a sword stabbing through the stone wall in the last panel? No wait that's right the Castle is sentient and that's it's mouth

Energy Drain is also a cleric spell.

greatcleaveland, she probably identified the various components of the spell to identify which version of Energy Drain was being used.

Naomi's correct in that she identified it as the arcane version of Energy Drain, though it is true it can be prepared as a Cleric spell. And chronos12 is correct in that it's the castle itself that seems to be wearing that creepy slasher smile. We already know the castle does not get along well with the King, and Melchior's commenting about that in his little rhyming couplet there.

Downsides of this battle: A bunch of important and semi-important characters (including multiple high-level royals) killed gruesomely. A huge number of elves also probably set to die.
Upsides of this battle: A new outfit for one of the aforementioned high-level royals, cool effects, and some really nifty wasp-mech things.
I can see the battle is going poorly, but I can't shake the art-focused part of me that thinks it's already a win.

Wow, I didn't think the castle was openly treacherous like this. Jeez, it doesn't like the King, but this level of animosity? Actively helping demons? Wowzers.
